Implementing the operating model
Oranga Tamariki is developing and implementing a new child-centred operating model to fundamentally transform the service response to New Zealand's most at-risk children and young people.
Introduction
The nine Cabinet papers and associated minutes seek agreement to policy direction and implementation of the Oranga Tamariki operating model, which helped to inform Budget 2019 decisions.
They include:
- A suite of six Cabinet papers on 'Transforming our Response to Children and Young People' (October 2018).
- An earlier Cabinet paper on 'The Future Direction of the Intensive Intervention Function for Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children' (May 2018).
- Two additional Cabinet papers that followed on from the suite of six: 'Children's teams' and 'Pre-Commitment Funding' (November 2018).
