Do you have a story about someone who helped you, or another young person? Someone you'd like to acknowledge with the taonga?
Five 'taonga' or precious carvings have been made to recognise those who've helped a vulnerable or at risk child or young person, even in a small way. In time the person who receives the taonga will be asked to return it, so that it can be passed on to the next person, and the next, leaving a trail of wellbeing wherever it goes.
Our hope is that these 'Trails of Taonga' will help build a culture of stepping forward in New Zealand, so that all our tamariki can be offered the aroha and support they need to thrive.
