Privacy review and 2025 improvement plan
We released a report in 2025 that reviewed how we manage privacy in our work. It examined how we collect, hold and share information about children, youth, caregivers, families and our staff.
In 2023 we commissioned a report to understand privacy practices across our organisation. This was so we can improve our practices and minimise risks.
The report details how we manage privacy in our work, and any issues in how we work with private information. It also suggests ways to help staff stay aware of privacy concerns in all aspects of our work and minimise the risk of privacy breaches.
We committed to improving how we handle privacy in our work. This is so we can assure individuals and whānau their information is prioritised and protected.
Next steps
We created an improvement plan to strengthen our privacy practices. It includes several actions we have already acted upon to address some of the report’s findings.
The plan also sets out our commitment to continuous improvement. This is to ensure we can provide the best possible protection of the personal information we hold.
